About Me
Here are a few things about me
Isaac Soto, a vibrant painter and printmaker, was born in 2002 amidst the sun-drenched landscapes of Tucson, Arizona. His artistic journey began early, sketching away in childhood sketchbooks that would eventually pave the way for his expressive and distinctive style.
In 2015, Isaac relocated to Portland, Oregon, with his parents. High school became an inadvertent incubator for his creative exploration, marked by the creation of zines and illustrations. The intersection of his passion for art and professional experience converged when he interned at Goblinko, a local company renowned for its quarterly art zine, Pork Magazine. This pivotal experience left an indelible mark on Isaac, propelling him to contribute to pursuing art seriously.
The trajectory of Isaac's high school experience faced an unexpected disruption with the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Turning challenge into opportunity, the summer of 2020 became a cocoon of creativity for Isaac as he harnessed the isolation of quarantine to delve deeper into his art. This period birthed a personal style that orbits the concept of a psychedelic dystopia, a theme that now permeates his creations.
Currently pursuing a Printmaking BFA at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, Isaac's recent body of work unfolds as a series of untitled multimedia paintings and prints. These pieces breathe life into colorful, alien-like structures, drawing inspiration from the intricate dance between industrial architecture and organic forms. Each stroke and hue encapsulates the essence of Isaac's artistic vision—a fusion of vibrant chaos and structured surrealism.
